C11 Mechanical Alignment & Collimation

Primary Registration of Hotech ACT - Collimation with Hyperstar

The front face of the hyperstar is temporarily removed to let the Hotech ACT shine through to the back focus Hotech mirror.

Then the back of the scope is moved so the cross laser is centered on the back focus Hotech mirror. This ensures that the tube mechanical axis coincides with the Hotech ACT axis and the hyperstar mechanical axis.

As we are trying to collimate the primary we need to rely solely on the tube axis, the hyperstar mechanical axis and the Hotech ACT axis to start with. We cannot rely on any reflection from the primary mirror.
